You arrive at the meeting fully prepared. Forty-seven slides. Company history. Global footprint. Mission statement. Values. Awards. Three photographs of your headquarters. By slide 12, your Scandinavian customer is no longer wondering whether to buy. They are wondering whether lunch will survive.
Nordic business culture generally rewards clarity, relevance and restraint. Swedish, Danish, Norwegian and Finnish buyers usually want to understand three things quickly: What problem do you solve? Why should they trust you? What happens next? Everything else must earn its place. This does not mean Scandinavians dislike presentations. They dislike presentations that behave like autobiographies.
Your customer probably does not need seven slides explaining that your company is passionate about innovation. Show one useful result instead. Replace adjectives with evidence. Replace corporate history with customer value. And seriously consider whether slides 3–41 deserve early retirement.
A strong Nordic sales presentation may be shorter, calmer and less theatrical than what works elsewhere. That is not lack of ambition. It is respect for the audience’s time. The best presentation often creates a conversation rather than completing a performance.
